How it all began
Hey! I’m Christa of Topknot Yorkies
Topknot Yorkies was started a few years ago as a small family Yorkshire Terrier breeding program. Our dogs are first and foremost beloved family pets. They are home raised, high quality family oriented puppies. We take a more holistic approach including a raw/limited ingredient diet, exceptional care, lots of love and affection, as well as early stimulation and training. We strive to produce some of the highest quality Yorkies you’ll find.
We have a dedicated room in our house that the puppies are raised from birth onward. Once old enough puppies are set up in a play area (our living room) for hours of play time and exposure to many new sights and sounds.
Topknot Yorkies is a family affair... I have the passion and knowledge to ensure all of our dogs and puppies get the care and attention that they deserve. All litters are raised in my home, but all our dogs live with their owners, in their forever homes. We do use guardian homes for some of the dogs in our program...

We’re passionate
We started Topknot Yorkies because of what we saw as a lack of transparency and the expansion of scam artists, taking advantage of people when they are most vulnerable. Our goal is to make Topknot Yorkies a place where every potential Yorkie family comes and feels completely comfortable and at peace with knowing these puppies were raised in a family home with loving people that are passionate and want to improve the overall health and quality of the breed. We work diligently to ensure that we are following the best Yorkshire Terrier breeding practices and work extra hard to make sure your future family member is healthy & socialized to fit your family’s needs. In the event that something happens to your Yorkie, you won’t be alone. We are here to support our Topknot Yorkie Families, not only through the process of choosing the perfect puppy, but for years to come. When you take one of our pups home, you are also taking a little piece of us.

Why We Do It
We often get asked… What is your favorite part of breeding? Honestly… That is super hard question to answer because if we didn’t absolutely love what we were doing, we wouldn’t do it. We feel like all the stages of raising puppies are our favorites, like helping the moms during the whelping of puppies, comforting them, and tending to both their needs. Getting to watch the puppies grow, when they first open their eyes and (of course) giving them as many kisses possible... to watching the babies learn how to walk and develop their little growls because they think they are so big... watching them develop their very own little personalities. There is just simply too much to list. But the pure joy is when we are adding to someone’s life... getting to be there when they first meet and witnessing absolute joy. All the happiness that the puppy brought me and my family and the happiness he/she is bringing to their new families, is exactly why we do what we do.
